•     1 cup basmati rice
  •     1/4 tablespoon ginger finely chopped
  •     1/4 tablespoon garlic finely chopped
  •     1 big/ 2 small onions finely chopped
  •     1 cup tomatoes finely chopped
  •     Salt for taste
  •     1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  •     1-2 tablespoon ghee
  •     A hand full of coriander leaves
  •     2 teaspoon chilly powder
  •     1 teaspoon garam masala
  •     3 cups of water
Cooking Method :

1. Rinse 1 heaped cup basmati rice or any regular rice for a couple of times in water. then soak the rice in water for 30 minutes. Later drain the rice and keep aside.

2. In a kadai/pan, add 2 tablespoon of ghee/oil and when the ghee/oil is heat, add cumin seeds,ginger and garlic and saute well.

3. Add finely chopped onions and saute till translucent.

4. Add finely chopped tomatoes, salt for taste and close the kadai/pan and cook till tomatoes turns soft.

5. Add chilly powder and garam masala. Saute till the masala loses its raw smell. Add coriander leaves.

6. Add soaked basmati rice and mix well.

7. Add 3 cups of water . Then close and cook till fully done. Garnish it with coriander leaves. ( Coriander leaves is optional, those who don’t like it, please avoid it. )

8. Tomato rice is ready…
