CHEESY SEMOLINA BALLS RECIPE

CHEESY SEMOLINA BALLS RECIPE

I like easy but tasty foods, especially when you have guest and there will be a lot drinking, or you need comfy food for a game night! This Algerian dish is amazing!

Semolina croquettes or balls are very tasty and easy to make. The difficulty however lies in forming the balls, it is necessary to wet moderately and to tighten the balls intensely between the hands, so that they do not dissolve during cooking.

Serving: 6 people | Preparation: 25 min | Cooking: 20 min |

INGREDIENTS

500g of fine semolina (you can also use the coarse kind if you prefer)
1 large glass of skim milk
    2 eggs
150 g grated cheese – I use Parmigiano Reggiano, you can never go wrong with that.
    2 large onions
    4 cloves garlic
A bunch of herbs: parsley, thyme, oregon, celery and whatever else you’d like to add.
     2 tbsp. olive oil
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. pepper

Cooking method
STEP 1
Finely chop all the ingredients.

STEP 2
Beat the eggs with salt and milk in a container.

STEP 3
Add the semolina, add the oil and mix everything well. Add salt and pepper.

STEP 4
Finally add the grated cheese and chopped herbs and stir well.

STEP 5
Preheat the oven to 180 ° C.

STEP 6
Butter a baking sheet and sprinkle it with fine semolina.

STEP 7
Form croquettes with the preparation, shaping them with your hands, and place them on the baking sheet.

STEP 8
Bake for 20 to 30 minutes until the croquettes are golden brown.

STEP 9
Serve hot as a snack or serve with chicken or lentil soup.

TIPS:
You can also fry them if you like!
